- On the K of diamonds, south discards a club, and on the Ace of diamonds, South discards another club.
- South wins a club switch with the ace and trumps a small club.
- Entering dummy with a trump, declarer ruffs another low club so that North’s two remaining clubs are established.
- Dummy is entered with a trump and the Q and 10 of spades are discarded on the two clubs from dummy.
- If West switches to a club at trick two, declarer wins with the Ace and plays the Q diamonds, on which he discards his last club and thus proceeds to establish two small clubs in dummy.
