Contract: 3 NT by South. West leads the Club four. Declarer can finesse the heart and play four rounds thus establishing a fifth heart trick in dummy. How does he make nine tricks?

- In planning the play before playing a card from dummy, the key play is to play the ten of clubs on the first lead.
- If the ten is retained, declarer will come to only two club tricks.
- If the two is retained and not the ten, declarer can finesse the nine of clubs for his ninth trick.
