Contract: 4♠ by South. Opening lead K Clubs. West wins the trick and switches to the Diamond 10, covered by North’s Queen, East’s King and declarer’s Ace.

- This hand requires a little bit of forethought on declarer’s part.
- The urgency of an entry to dummy is self evident, so declarer must jettison his Club Q on West’s opening lead.
- West cannot afford declarer entering dummy via a Club but if south retains the Q clubs West can prevent the Club entry to dummy.
- When West enters with the Club Ace and continues diamonds, declarer must be careful to ruff with the 9, 10 or J of trumps and not the 7.
- This allows declarer to take the Spade finesse twice.
